Welcome to KDOT’s Performance Measures website. Our agency is committed to delivering our transportation program in an accountable, collaborative and transparent manner – and this site is one of the ways we do that. This is where you can see how our state is performing in key areas. We believe government functions better when citizens are active in it, so please take time to explore this site and let us know where we can improve both in our performance as well as in the way we communicate about our performance. This site will grow and change as we further develop our performance measures so we encourage you to come back and check our progress.
— KDOT Secretary Mike King
As part of KDOT’s commitment to building a modern, sustainable transportation network for all Kansans, we use performance management to improve our organizational efficiency agency-wide and improve our accountability to the public. KDOT tracks performance for six priority areas that reflect the issues Kansans care about most when it comes to transportation. Tracking performance in these areas helps KDOT staff and our external stakeholders understand where we are making progress and where we need to improve. Each of the tabs below charts performance for a critical issue on KDOT's agenda; many of the tabs provide links for additional information about our performance.

What else do we measure?
This site summarizes KDOT's performance management efforts and is intended as an overview of the agency's core performance goals. Behind the scenes, KDOT has dozens of other measures and metrics that help us make informed, value-driven decisions and promote improvement of our operations. Our internal performance management systems include:
- A robust data driven project-selection process based on engineering factors, regional priorities, and economic impacts
- Complex pavement and bridge asset management processes
- A detailed equipment management system
- Budgetary performance measures
- Project and program management processes, including project design, estimating, and construction management
We are committed to growing and further developing our performance management practices and
are committed to enhancing agency transparency. Updates will be posted on this site as our performance management processes evolve and additional measures are developed.
